When you think about the R&B scene in the United States during the 1990′s, there can be little doubt that one of the most important acts at that time was a single man with a single word for a name. That’s right, Usher gave the world the album My Way in 1997 and has been steadily winning over fans ever since that day. That very first album went Platinum 6 times over in the United States and scored the young R&B sensation a string of Grammy nominations. Hits such as Nice and Slow, My Way, and You Make Me Wanna, all made their way to the top of US charts during the last years of the 90′s and cemented the position of Usher as one of the greatest R&B of his generation. Working with stars like Lil Kim, Jermaine Dupri and Monica all helped the artist achieve success as one of the biggest acts on LaFace Records. It would then be another 4 years before the world heard from the singer again, but by 2001 the boy was back in action as a seasoned entertainer, releasing his album 8701 in 2001 and spawning the No. 1 hits U Got It Bad and U Remind Me to catch into the minds of a brand new wave of fans.

This March, in 2010, our hero was back at it again releasing his 6th studio album, Raymond v. Raymond and as most would have guessed, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in the US. Usher is right now known for his smash hit DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love, a real chart climber in 2010. What many may not realize is that he is actually not just a talented singer and dancer, he is in fact one of the highest selling musicians in American history with over 23 million records sold there alone and 45 million sold across the planet. Few bands can ever compare to the epic experience that the group known by the name of Trans-Siberian Orchestra brings to their fans. This is a group that was founded in 1996 and is more popularly recognized by the name of TSO. It is a huge band, but not like anything else you might have seen before. If you can imagine a version of the popular death metal group Slipknot with far more orchestral elements and an even more massive stage show with all sorts of elaborate lighting then you are getting close to imagining this group. The group was originally conceived of by Paul O’Neill, a composer and lyricist, as well as a producer. O’Neill brought together two members of the group Savatage: Al Pitrelli and Jon Olivia to form the original TSO line up.

As you might have guessed, rock operas are the groups specialty and in order to accomplish their unique sound they incorporate elements of classical symphonies, hard rock and old school heavy metal. To date, the group has released 5 studio albums in all: 1996′s Christmas Eve and Other Stories and 1998′s The Christmas Attic, both through the Lava record label; 2000′s Beethoven’s Last Night on Warner’s record label; 2004′s The Lost Christmas Eve and 2009′s Night Castle, both of these last 2 also under the Lava label. While they have reached No. 5 on the Billboard charts in 2009, popular success is hardly a feat which they can be said to have accomplished yet.

That is precisely what is so charming to the fans of this group. They have been laboring now for more than 14 years to bring their fans a spectacular show that is purely unrivaled in music today in terms of its grand scale, visual artistry and musical intricacy. Although the band’s early roots begin in 1993, it took O’Neill quite some time to fully form today’s TSO. Borrowing from bands like Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin, the Temptations, Aerosmith and The Who all paid off for the group, however. Today they have an incredibly diverse yet truly distinct sound unmatched by any other band on the planet.

Fans who want to catch these guys in action are certainly going to be delighted to learn that they are indeed touring not only for Winter 2010, but also Spring 2011. TSO will be bringing the TSO Winter Tour to cities all across the United States, performing literally dozens of shows between November 2010 and December 30th 2010, showcasing their renowned work ethic to the max. Additionally, their Beethoven’s Last Night Tour will storm the globe in the last half of March 2011, offering many European fans a chance to finally see them live.

As far as bands from Ireland go, there is one that sits head and shoulders above the rest. In fact, you could say that U2 tops the vast majority of pop rock bands in the world today simply due to epic size of their global fan base. The most obvious member of the group is a celebrity in his own right, lead singer and guitarist Bono, but but let us not forget legendary members like Adam Clayton on bass, Larry Mullen Jr on drums, and The Edge on guitars and keyboard.

This band has toured the world over and over again, releasing a seemingly unending stream of chart topping pop blockbusters such as Sunday Bloody Sunday, I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For, I Will Follow, The Fly and more. When it comes to churning out the hits, U2 has been able to do it with awe inspiring regularity and manage to hold true to not only their Irish roots, but also their commitment to social causes that affect some of the world’s poorest and most overlooked populations. This band has truly dedicated themselves to the cause of helping others and it is a huge part of what has made them so well loved the world over.

In terms of sheer musical achievement, the band’s legacy extends far past any pop music charts. In fact, to date they have sold over 150 million albums and have already been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. To many, the name U2 is synonymous with rock music itself. From alternative rock to dance music to Irish folk music tinged ballads, this band has built up a career that extends far beyond the scope of most other bands in the world today. They have never shied away from controversy and are well known for their steadfast support to groups like Amnesty International and other global human rights causes the world over.

If you are hoping to see this band live in 2011 then you had better hurry because everyone knows just how quickly tickets sell out. Their current 360 Tour has already completed its first leg in 2009 and now the band will bring its live show to Mexico and the United States for 2011. Is it still possible to see U2 these days? Indeed it is, but the tickets are not cheap and they are not easy to get a hold of. You will need to be diligent in order to find the best deals, but the 360 Tour does promise to be one of the most epic in U2 history. In fact, some have already begun to say that it is one of the most epic in music history.

Many of those living outside the United Kingdom today may not yet be acquainted with the fact that the UK has a long history of rhythm and blues. Although the music first began in the United States, it quickly found a home on the British Isles and has remained popular ever since. In terms of R&B from the UK, Sade is one of the most important acts going. The group is named for its lead singer’s first name, her last name being Adu. She is a British Nigerian and a former member of the Latin soul band that went by the name of Pride in the early 1980′s. The group was officially formed in 1982 in London and originally toured in support of Pride after Adu left that group. It would not be long, just a year, before the group made their way across the Atlantic to appear at the Danceteria Club in New York City in 1983. One year after that, they released their first album on Portrait Records and it was called Diamond Life. The hit single from that album, Your Love is King, made its way to the No. 2 position on the UK charts and went Platinum 4 times over.

That was quite a start for the group, but it would not end there by any means. To date, Sade has released 6 studio albums, with their greatest period of productivity occurring during the 1980′s during which they released Diamond Life, Promise and Stronger Than Pride. However, since then Sade has released at least one studio album per decade: Love Deluxe in 1992, Lovers Rock in 2000 and Soldier of Love in 2010. Clearly, they are still inspiring their fan base and creating R&B that has captured the hearts of fans all over the world. The group won a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1986 and has sold a huge number of albums. In the US alone, they have sold over 23 million albums and even more than that across the globe to bring their grand total to 50 million albums sold worldwide.

Fans of this group will be delighted to learn that they are not only still creating music, they are still touring, as well. In fact, Sade is now bringing its special brand of R&B to Europe and North America in support of their most recent album, Soldier of Love. This will be their first global tour in over a decade and is sure to bring back memories for long time fans and win over the hearts of any newcomers who have not yet been dazzled by the group’s vocal prowess and raw soul. This is one tour not to miss.

In terms of sheer audacity as a performer and total mystery as an artist, there are few other musicians in the world who can compared to the one who changed his own name to a symbol. That’s right, the man born Prince Rogers Nelson is still alive and kicking, even after changing his name to a Love Symbol no one could pronounce between the years of 1993 and 2003. Today, this gifted musician is just as well loved as ever, but it has taken time and talent for him to see the world’s highest peaks of success and none can say that he has not given it his all in the pursuit of pop music excellence. Not only has Prince brought the world 10 Platinum albums over the course of his career, he has taken 30 singles into the Top 40′s in the United States alone. Songs such as When Doves Cry, Darling Nikki, Nothing Compares 2 U, Cream and many others are classics in the annals of pop music history. In addition, he also starred in his own movie, Purple Rain. There are precious few performers who have scaled such heights of grandeur as he has and still come out sane, fresh and creative, even if a little bit mysterious for a time.

Fans also know that Prince the singer who is not afraid of controversy and will face it head on. As the pioneer of the Minneapolis sound, Prince brought the world a style of music that blends a head spinning number of influences ranging from funk to hip hop to folk, electronica, disco and New Wave. Few performers could have managed to pull of such a hodge podge mixture of influences, but in the skills hands of this musicians, it is pure pop music alchemy according to most critics. That is probably why he has not only been ranked in the top 100 Greatest Artists of All Time by Rolling Stone Magazine, but also won 7 Grammy’s and even an Academy Award. Additionally, he has already been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as of 2004.

Now 52 years old, the performer is once again heading out on tour in December of 2010 in a brand new US tour set to be called Welcome 2 America that is sure to bring in even more fans. Most of us would agree that Prince Rogers Nelson is one of the hardest working men in all of music today and it is certain that his legacy will far outlast him, but being able to see him perform live is definitely going to be an extraordinary treat that very few fans would want to miss a chance to see.

There are a lot of attempts made by some people to define what country music is. Some say it is characterized by a melody using simple chords and country instruments. Others say it is an embodiment of attitudes and beliefs that give message about aspirations and conveys warmth and friendliness.

Whatever it is that categorizes a song as country music, if you want a different kind of experience with the genre, then Rascal Flatts is all you need to hear. This is a country music band founded in Nashville Tennessee, with three members Gary Levox (lead vocalist), Jay De Marcus (bass guitar and vocals) and JoeDon Rooney (lead guitar and vocals). Music fans know that when it comes to hard rock, no one comes close to the performance of KISS, and nothing comes close to a live kiss concert. Just like any struggling band at that time, it took several tries before they finally found the formula for success. The Rock Band KISS is a true blue- New York City rock and roll band which was originally formed by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. They were know as Wicked Lester. But their partnership was not getting them anywhere near their goal. After seeing an ad posted by Peter Criss in the rock magazine, Simmons and Stanley immediately went on to invite him into their group and the trio was created. Criss was a veteran drummer and his talent landed him the part in the band. In 1973, the trio invited Ace Frehley to join them and it was soon after his joining that the group renamed their rockband KISS.

Their world sales record has already reached well over a hundred million dollars from the 19 million albums they have sold. They are now one of the top ten iconic rock bands to be on the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock and placed 9th on the MTV list of ‘The Greatest Metal Bands’ ever. Their album Alive shot them to stardom after achieving gold status with the solo piece off the album entitled Rock and Roll All Nite.

Jay-Z and Eminem Concert

Jay-Z is sort of famous for his mash ups. He’s teamed up with R. Kelly on an album and a few shows in the past. He’s also teamed up, quite successfully, with Linkin Park, and that album and concert tour did very well too. Now Jay Z and Eminem are teaming up this year, and they’ll be doing a few shows in each other’s hometowns. This will not be a show to miss for a few reasons. For one, neither is really doing a long string of shows in the way of a full on tour this year or next for that matter. And second, each individually puts on a show that’s just not been one to miss as well. Take Jay-Z’s concert at Madison Square Garden. He was the first hip hop act to completely sell out his entire string of dates there. It set a record for the venue, and it’s yet to be matched or topped. And Eminem, forget about it. Eminem is one of the best selling hip hop acts, period. He’s critically acclaimed by his peers in the industry, and followers of hip hop think and rate him to be one of the greatest of all time, bar none. Eminem and Jay Z have to come together for the rare showing, on various occasions in front of TV. There’s been an awards show or two and other shows/concerts that were themed to recognize a particular artist. Also, they’ve worked on recorded tracks together, which have done very well. The hype surrounding Eminem really hasn’t been any hotter. It’s raging right now, with high anticipation about what he’s going to do next. People are viewing his latest releases, the Relapse album, and the Recovery album, as appetizers to what’s to come. His production values are far none unmatched, as he boasts about on a track, “I’ve done tracks for Jay-Z for free…”

Jay Z and Eminem haven’t been without controversy. Each has his own story to tell, his own gripes with society, and his own take on various political issues as well. And the fact that each is playing in each other’s hometowns is just huge. Tickets for these shows are sure to go fast (King of Pop fast), and it’s hard to tell when this will ever happen again, so people are just waiting for those shows to come online to dive into the tickets. Eminem and Jay Z Concert tickets are sure not to last.Another reason people are “patiently waiting” for these shows is the fact that these two players are sort of getting into that “retirement age” of hip hop, which plays into the whole idea of this not really ever happening ever again, any time soon.
